In 2025, thanks to our donors, we were able to transfer €36,100 to our Asian partners.
We provide financial support to movements engaged in long-term activities covering a wide range of areas : emergency relief, rehabilitation, development of alternatives, self-organisation of popular sectors (trade unions, associations, women’s movements, indigenous peoples, etc.), creation of horizontal solidarity networks, and strengthening of mutual solidarity to build collective capacity for action.
These activities, rooted in decades of activist committment, enable our partner organisations to play an active role now that young people are rebelling.
Mass Uprisings Across Asia
Our partners are fully engaged in the social movements that have given new hope to the populations:
Bangladesh, July 2024 : Students toppled Sheikh Hasina’s 15-year dictatorship.
Pakistan and India, May 2025 : A courageous minority of Pakistani and Indian left and feminist activists opposed the air war between their countries.
Indonesia, August 2025 : Women marched under pink banners against state violence, anti-labour laws, and the re-writing of history books to whitewash the Suharto dictatorship.
Philippines, November 2025 : As we write this appeal, Filipino protests against corruption grew by the week after hundreds died because flood defence programmes had been looted by the elite of all parties.
Infrastructure of Resistance
Bangladesh : Land Occupations Build Revolutionary Capacity
Countless young rural Bangladeshi activists learned how to organise, resist state violence, and demand their rights in the land occupations coordinated by our partners Bangladesh Krishok Federation (BKF) and Bangladesh Kishani Sabha (BKS). This courageous collective work built horizontal networks and organisational capacity that contributed to relay the 2024 youth protests in Dhaka beyond urban zones into a nationwide revolution against Hasina’s dictatorship.

In Indonesia, our partner Free Women and the broader Alliance of Indonesian Women (API) played a key organising role in mass protests throughout 2025. Hundreds of thousands took to the streets against parliamentary corruption, state violence and austerity. Free Women’s years of organising women and LGBTQ garment workers in the Nusantara industrial zones provided networks and political education that enabled August’s mobilisations and strengthened feminist, labour-left and human rights alliances.

November 2025’s Typhoon Tino (Kalmaegi) resulted in 200+ deaths from corruption, unsustainable exploitation of coastal areas, and a state that polices the poor rather than supporting them. Our partner MiHands in Mindanao is at the forefront of ecosocialist response to recurring climate disasters and corruption, building « tri-people solidarity » across Lumad (indigenous), Moro (Muslim), and migrant settler communities across Mindanao.

Our Pakistan partners Crofter Foundation and Pakistan Kissan Rabita Committee organise small-scale farmers and landless peasants. In April 2025, they mobilised thousands in 17 cities nationwide for International Farmers Day, protesting corporate farming. They collaborate with the Labour Education Foundation which assists trade union formation since 1993, providing training, conducting legal advocacy.
Why Your Solidarity Contribution Matters
International financial solidarity is not charity. It is practical recognition that working-class struggles everywhere confront the same global capitalist system.
What Your Donation Funds
Your donation funds immediate needs (emergency relief, legal defence for imprisoned activists and land occupiers, medical treatment for injured protesters and disaster survivors) and long-term movement building (training, equipment, communications infrastructure, strategic campaigns).
– €20 covers transportation for a community organiser for a month
– €50 funds a training session for women workers
– €100 provides emergency relief to a family displaced by climate disaster
– Monthly donations provide stable income enabling long-term planning.
All donations are precious, whether big or small.
ESSF delivers 100% of donations directly to partners. We are a volunteer group —no salaries, no administrative overhead.

International Solidarity Is Our Weapon
Our choice is clear : either international solidarity builds working-class power capable of systemic transformation, or nationalist fragmentation continues to allows capital and authoritarianism to crush our resistance movement by movement, country by country. Your donation is not charity—it is investment in our transnational struggle.
Our partners in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia and the Philippines have contributed to current resistance through decades of helping grassroots sectors to organise themselves and forging bonds of solidarity. Today, they are actively involved in the fight against corruption, inequality, social and climate injustice. More than ever, they deserve our support, your support.
