To compensate for the lack of soldiers, the Russian authorities set up recruitment campaigns in Africa, first through Wagner mercenaries, before these networks diversified.

Since 12 February 2026, after a clash in Lyon between a group of antifa and a group of fascists that resulted in the death of one of the latter, France has taken a sordid turn in a campaign of demonization and criminalization of La France Insoumise (LFI), the left wing party led by Jean-Luc Mélenchon, which is directly accused of being politically responsible for the death of this person.

read article...In his presentation of Marx’s Theses on Feuerbach (1845), which he published posthumously in 1888, Engels described them as “the first document in which is deposited the brilliant germ of the new world outlook”. Indeed, in this little text Marx surpasses dialectically – the celebrated Aufhebung: negation/conservation/elevation – the preceding materialism and idealism, and formulates a new theory, which we could describe as the philosophy of praxis. While the French materialists of the eighteenth century insisted on the need to change material circumstances so that human beings could change, the German idealists affirmed that, thanks to the formation of a new consciousness of individuals, society would be changed.
Members of Vpered, an organisation of mainly young members in a number of cities in Russia, now the section of the Fourth International, met Daniel Bensaïd in Paris in December 2006 and asked him, as a leading Marxist philosopher, teacher and activist, for his opinion on the relevance of Marxism today.
The re-emergence of feminism in the 1970s, itself the product of a whole generation of militants imbued with Marxism - at least in Europe - contributed to the development of two types of currents: those advocating a pure and simple rejection of Marxism, others the surpassing of Marxism through some methodology supposed to be better suited to the new subject matter. This paradoxical phenomenon can be explained by factors both internal and external to Marxism.
