We learned this Wednesday morning, August 5, that the World Social Forum, scheduled to take place in Cotonou, Benin, has been banned. Already yesterday, the opening demonstration had been banned by the authorities. And the caravan from West Africa—which included feminist organizations—had been expelled. Five buses were turned back after having already crossed the border.
From July 16 to 19, 2026, the headquarters of the newspaper Almounadila socialiste hosted the first edition of “Socialist Days”, a space for political education, strategic reflection and activist exchanges dedicated to the deepening of the revolutionary socialist project.

This conference brought together delegates representing the activists of the NPA-l’Anticapitaliste, who had debated and voted in the general assemblies held throughout June.
