At the same time, the communists from the “Just World” were also critical of the Soviet experience of building socialism. In their programme they declare that the working people did not fully become the masters of the means of production and the socialist slogan “All power to the Soviets!” was not realized in real practice.
For 30 years, the Belarusian party of the left “Just World” has been striving for the return of social guarantees, a reduction in the working day without a reduction in wages, the restoration of public property, the abolition of the presidency and the democratization of political life.
The dictatorship has repeatedly tried to destroy the Just World Party. In 1996, the parliamentary group of the communists was destroyed, and the parliament was dissolved by the president. After that, the government created a puppet Stalinist Communist Party, which performed the function of discrediting the opposition left. There were absurd attempts to artificially “unite” the two parties.
Today, the Belarusian party of the left “Just World” continues to fight against the dictatorship, advocating for democracy and socialism. From the very beginning of the popular uprising against Belarusian Bonapartism, the Just World Party took the side of the protesting people and proposed a transitional programme - not only democracy, but also socialist transformations.
This year, the Belarusian opposition leftists are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their party. We congratulate all the activists of the Just World Party on the anniversary of their party and wish them success in the struggle for freedom, equality, democracy and socialism.
