Salvatore Cannavò

Salvatore Cannavò is an Italian journalist, editor and former politician. Born in Linguaglossa (Sicily) in 1964, he worked for thirteen years on the daily Liberazione, where he served as deputy editor under Sandro Curzi; he sat in the Italian Chamber of Deputies for Rifondazione Comunista from 2006 to 2008. In 2003 he co-founded Edizioni Alegre, which he directs, and in 2018 he launched the magazine Jacobin Italia. He has been deputy editor of Il Fatto Quotidiano and continues to contribute to it. Books include Porto Alegre, capitale dei movimenti (manifestolibri, 2002), La rifondazione mancata (Alegre, 2009), Mutualismo. Ritorno al futuro per la sinistra (Alegre, 2018) and Si fa presto a dire sinistra (Piemme, 2023).
