The basic Marxist positions on women’s oppression are part of the programmatic foundations of the Fourth International. But this is the first full resolution on women’s liberation adopted by the international. Its purpose is to set down our basic analysis of the character of women’s oppression, and the place the struggle against that oppression occupies in our perspectives for all three sectors of the world revolution: the advanced capitalist countries, the colonial and semi-colonial world, the workers states.
