In February 2017, some students of the Franche Comte University, in France, organized an action to protest against selection. They tried to invade the meeting of the administration council in order to participate in the discussion.
The leadership of the University decided to have them evacuated by police. This led to 19 of them being arrested, all of this based on fake declarations of the university president to the police.
Almost a year and a half later, 7 of them were tried in court and a very heavy sentence was pronounced. Three of them received a suspended prison sentence, the longest being 5 months. The mobilization to support these students is still in progress since some of the students are still waiting for the verdict.
The Youth Camp of the Fourth International would like to show all of its support to those students and reaffirm the fact that collectively defending our rights is not a crime!
