This resolution on the Role and Tasks of the Fourth International was adopted at the Sixteenth World Congress by 91% of the delegate votes, 8% against and 1% abstaining. An accompanying motion on organising seminars to continue the discussion was adopted by 99% of the votes, 1% abstaining.

The Belgian section of the Fourth International LCR/SAP pays tribute to a long standing member, Jos Geudens. A tribute is being organised in Antwerp on Saturday the 3rd of April.

The Sixteenth World Congress of the Fourth International adopted this resolution on Capitalist Climate Change and 0ur Tasks with 97% of the delegates in favour and 3% abstaining. The adoption of this resolution followed discussion of a lengthy report on climate change approved in February 2009 by the International Committee, and the adoption at the previous World Congress in 2003 of a resolution on Ecology and socalism.

Following the enormous catastrophe that hit Haiti, this country, the poorest in the Americas, desperately needs solidarity, not military occupation. The Sixteenth World Congress adopted the following statement of solidarity.
