Repression has reached an unprecedented scale in Egypt raids against the journalists’ union, arbitrary arrests, systematic violence, disappearances, arrests of activists, journalists and lawyers ... More than 1,200 people have been arrested by Egyptian security forces since April 15.

The government memo accidentally revealed to the press proves the regime’s intention to fight against all forms of dissent and democratic demands. The wall of silence that the Sissi government is trying to impose on the press is one of the most obvious manifestations.

The gravity of the situation requires our internationalist solidarity. We stronhly denounce the agreements, particularly military ones, between France and Egypt, promoting the military dictatorship in place.

We demand the release of all the political prisoners and reaffirm our full support for the Egyptian people’s struggle for democracy.
