Nisar Shah Released

The chairperson of the Labour Party Pakistan, Nisar Shah, was released this evening from Rawalpindi Adiala jail.

He was arrested on 7th November 2007 while leading a demonstration of advocates in Islamabad. His release came after the government withdrew the one month detention order against him.

Labour Party Pakistan had organized a massive campaign for his and other political prisoner’s release. After his release, he spoke to several members of Labour Party Pakistan and vowed to continue struggle for the overthrow of General Musharaf. He will address a press conference on 24th November at Islamabad.
