Whenever the discrimination we face enters conversations, a chorus of voices responds to tell everyone that “the left” needs to “prioritise working class issues” and not be “distracted” from “genuine material concerns”. In the interest of educating cis comrades who've been misled by this framing, today we're going to use a mix of studies, surveys and anecdotal evidence to explore the life of the average trans person in Wales. UK Supreme Court backs bigots and transphobes

On 16 April 2025, the UK Supreme Court ruled that “woman” and “sex” in the Equality Act 2010 (the EA) refer to the sex assigned at birth in a case that was pushed for and funded by the UK gender critical movement. In essence, the judgment has found that being a woman entails having an XX chromosome, large gametes and the ability to produce children. This judgment means that trans women with gender recognition certificates (GRC) will no longer be legally defined as women under the EA.

This is a fundamental attack on the human rights of trans people.

Their actions constitute an on-going technocratic coup from the top and from within the government itself, what in Latin America is called an auto-golpe (a coup against one's own government) as Musk's techies, mostly young men employed by him, effectively take control by commandeering the state's computer systems. Trump's assault has left the country in a state of shock and confusion.
