Global Migration

From the middle of the 20th century, migration has been a decisive political issue. International organizations estimate that the number of people moving within and across national borders has grown to greater extent than ever since World War II. These type of estimates are never neutral – how far, and under which circumstances, do you have to move to be counted as a migrant, for instance? It is the same with statistics; you always have to make some qualification.

Offensive against the EU from left

The majority for Britain leaving the EU was an expression of class revolt against the EU of the upper class. This provides a good starting point for the Left to become the head of a rebellion against the EU, which has been the hub of social dumping, erosion of tax-financed welfare schemes and democratic influence, suppressing all attempts to depart from neoliberal policies and total failure to respond to the climate crisis. If the Left doesn't manage to take the lead in this fight - on an anti-racist and internationalist basis - it will be more or less racist forces of the extreme Right that will profit.

The Red/Green Alliance stood firm – and now we must move on

The government chose to make the budget with the right wing. This is logical to anyone who have followed the government since it came into power. The Social Democrats and SF will yet again undermine their own support among voters and members. But the government thought, that the Red/Green Alliance (RGA) could be whipped and threatened into anything.

Great victory for the Red-Green Alliance in Danish municipal elections

The results of the elections for the Danish municipal councils on 19 November 2013 proved to be a huge success for the Red-Green Alliance. These elections are held every four years and the councils are responsible for schools, infra-structure and other social services. The Alliance tripled its share of the votes from 2,3% to 6,9%. The best results were achieved in the major cities and in the capital, Copenhagen; here almost 20% of all voters preferred the Red-Green Alliance. Leading representatives of the Alliance have stated that the result represents a historical breakthrough in regards of representation at the municipal level. The alliance now has 119 elected representatives in the councils including mayors in Copenhagen and two other large cities. In comparison the Alliance gained only 13 representatives in the 2009-elections. Not since the Second World War has the political left had such a god result in the local elections.

No to imperialist war in Libya

The Red Green Alliance in Denmark decided to support Danish participation in the UN-NATO intervention in Libya. This support was later retracted. The SAP (Danish section of the Fourth International), which is part of the RGA, disagrees with the original position and considers the retraction insufficient, given the motivation. This resolution from their leadership explains why. The two statements from the RGA are published following the SAP resolution.
