NATO's joint declaration, signed on June 25 at its meeting in The Hague, shortly after the 12-day war against Iran, confirmed the subordination of the European powers—led by Great Britain, Germany, and France—to the Trumpist strategy of remilitarising Europe within a global framework of inter-imperialist competition and the Transatlantic bloc's shared responsibility for the genocide that the State of Israel continues to perpetrate against the Palestinian people.

The 41st Congress of the Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE – Spanish Socialist Workers' Party), held from 29 November to 1 December 2024, took place against an increasingly unstable international and geopolitical backdrop, and at a time when the media and the judiciary are focusing on corruption, the new shadow hanging over ‘Sanchismo', the method of government of the current prime minister, Pedro Sánchez, who is also the party's general secretary, in particular the affair involving the party's former number two, José Luis Ábalos.

Within the general framework of the multidimensional crisis in which we find ourselves, now aggravated by the stimulus that Trump's recent electoral victory represents for the rise of an extreme right on a global scale, it seems even more evident that we are witnessing a profound crisis of the international geopolitical (dis)order, as well as of the basic rules of International Law that have been established since the end of the Second World War. The most tragic manifestation of this crisis (which calls into question even the future of the UN) is found in the genocidal war against Gaza (Awad, 2024), to which are currently added around 56 wars across the planet.
