Right-wing nationalist Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe claims radiation from Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear reactor is perfectly under control at his presentation speech to the International Olympic Committee general assembly in Buenos Aires on September 7.
Ths shameless assertion by Abe is completely false. Highly radiation-contaminated water is massively leaking into the soil and sea everyday, and both TEPCO and the government could nothing to control Fukushima nuclear disaster.

TEPCO had explained that ‘nuclear accidents such as Chernobyl would never happen here because Japanese nuclear technologies are excellent' said Ryota Sono, 29 years old, a radical peace activist and member of the Precarious Workers General Union. Ryota has initiated protest actions against the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) since the nuclear disaster in Fukushima caused by huge earthquake and Tsunami on March 11. His initiatives have gained big sympathies particularly among the younger generation. Kenji Kunitomi interviewed Ryota Sono on April 23th in Tokyo.

This analysis of the elections comes from “Kakehashi” (Bridge), a newspaper which is, from this month, produced weekly in co-operation between two Fourth Internationalist organisations: the National Council of Internationalist Workers (NCIW) and the Japan Revolutionary Communist League (JRCL). The decision to publish a co-edited weekly is important for both organizations to develop a organizational reunification after a split in 1989.
