The tribals were called <code class='spip_code spip_code_inline' dir='ltr'>rakshas' (demons),</code>asuras', and what not. They were slaughtered in large numbers, and the survivors and their descendants were degraded, humiliated, and all kinds of atrocities inflicted on them for centuries.
