Otelo Saraiva de Carvalho was one of the architects of 25 April 1974. He died at the age of 84 in the Military Hospital in Lisbon. Catarina Martins, national coordinator of the Left Bloc, says Otelo deserves to be “remembered as one of the liberators of our country”.

An anti-racist multitude fills the streets of Portugal

In several cities across Portugal, thousands of voices came together on Saturday to remember all of the George Floyds who have been victims of racism. The member of parliament, Beatriz Dias, also made her presence felt, calling for "public policies to combat racism and racial discrimination".

Right wing wins, Marisa achieves historic result

Finally, a new government in Portugal

In the afternoon of 24 November the Portuguese president finally asked the SP general secretary to form the government. Catarina Martins, spokesperson of the Left Bloc stated, ”This decision respects the existing majority in the Parliament and recognizes the stability of the agreement reached”. Left Bloc closes negotiations with the Socialist Party
