Leopoldo Múnera Ruiz

Leopoldo Múnera Ruiz is Professor of Political Science, Universidad Nacional de Colombia. He is also the founder of the Contemporary Political Theory Research Group (TEOPOCO, according to the Spanish acronym), at the same University, and member of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research: Democracy, Institutions, Subjectivity (CRIDIS, according to the French acronym), at the Université Catholique de Louvain. His research veers around the critical study of power, social movements, and contemporary political theory. He is the author of Rupturas y continuidades: poder y movimiento popular en Colombia 1968-1988 (Bogotá: Universidad Nacional de Colombia, 1998), and has co-edited with others numerous books, like: Los saberes múltiples y las ciencias sociales y políticas (Bogotá: Universidad Nacional de Colombia, 2018); La Regeneración revisitada. Pluriverso y hegemonía en la construcción del Estado-nación en Colombia (Medellín: La Carreta, 2011); and Fragmentos de los Público-Político (Medellín: La Carreta, 2009).
