This law, which strips the NABU of its independence and places it under the authority of the Attorney General, is not a simple ‘reform’. It is a signal: the government wants to bring the entire anti-corruption sector under its control and remove even the last vestiges of accountability.
Admittedly, NABU is not perfect. It has had to act under pressure from public opinion and the international community. But without even limited autonomy, it would not have been able to touch high-ranking officials close to power. And it is precisely this possibility that is now being removed.
At the same time, under the slogan of ‘renewal’, the new government is launching a counter-revolution from above:
▪ a moratorium on company audits (extending the one already in place since 2022);
▪ auditing and closing cases that ‘inconvenience entrepreneurs’;
▪ abolishing all labour market controls and social standards.
This is not ‘developing entrepreneurship’, but legalising uncontrolled exploitation.
All this is not a response to the demand for change, but a cynical response to it.
On the streets, you hear:
— Parasitic MPs are preventing the people from living!
— Corruption kills, both at the front and at the rear!
We demand the abolition of everything that allows those close to power to steal with impunity, both at home and at the front.
We are for:
· an independent anti-corruption investigation;
· real labour inspections;
· comprehensive social protection financed by taxation of the rich;
· financial transparency in times of war;
· a just state, not a ‘state for corporations’.
War is neither a concession nor an excuse.
As long as the people pay with their taxes, their lives and their lost future, power must be controlled.
And if those in power are afraid, it is because they have something to hide.
