Transcribing Daniel Bensaïd

Monday 13 February 2017

Daniel Bensaïd (1946-2010) was one of the most innovative contemporary Marxists, a leading figure of May ’68, and an influential French public intellectual. Bensaïd wrote and lectured widely on burning issues of theory, strategy, history and philosophy in a number of works such as Marx for Our Times, Strategies of Resistance, and a moving autobiography - An Impatient Life: A Political Memoir.

During the eighties and nineties, Bensaïd delivered a number of lectures in a number of lectures in Amsterdam to the International Institute for Research and Education. In more than 25 hours of lectures, Bensaïd discusses Marxist concepts of the party, history of the Fourth International, Spanish and Cuban Revolutions, and much more.

You can find the recordings here.

We believe that Bensaïd’s work is especially relevant for organizers and strategists discussing contemporary problems and deserves to be widely known. To that end, we would like to transcribe Daniel Bensaïd’s lectures. If you want to help transcribe these files, please contact: Douglas Greene: greene.douglas@ymail.com
